Live Professional Basketball at MVCS March 3-5

You’re invited to see some professional basketball right here on campus this week!

The Sea-Kings, an American Basketball Association team from Seaside, will play three games in our high school gym on March 3-5.

Thursday, March 3, at 7pm: Sea-Kings vs. San Francisco Rumble

Friday, March 4, at 7pm: Sea-Kings vs. Shizuoka Gymrats (a professional team from Japan)

Saturday, March 5, at 6pm: Sea-Kings vs. Sacramento Heat Wave

Their appearance at Monte Vista Christian School has been arranged by the Sea-Kings General Manager and Head Coach, Wallace Bryant. Coach Bryant recently visited Monte Vista at the invitation of a friend, and he was so impressed that he asked for the opportunity to hold this week’s games on the campus.

Mr. Bryant played basketball in high school in Indiana, where he was named to the High School Hall of Fame. He was recruited by several colleges and selected the University of San Francisco, where his teams won three West Coast Conference championships and gained NCAA Tournament berths all four years. He graduated from USF with a degree in business.

He went on to play for the Chicago Bulls and the Dallas Mavericks, spending 15 years in the NBA and on overseas teams. In 2010, he started coaching and managing the Sea-Kings.

By special invitation from Coach Bryant, MVCS students can get into the games free. For members of the public, tickets at the gate are $7 adults/$5 students/under 10 years is free.
