Michelle Dai & Sara Lagan: Nat. Merit Commended Scholars

Michelle Dai and Sara Lagan have been named Commended Scholars by the National Merit Scholarship Program.  Out of the more than 1,500,000 students who took that PSAT test, they scored higher than 1,450,000 of them.

Lourdes Gomez: NHSR Scholar

Lourdes Gomez has been honored in the 2013-14 National Hispanic Scholar Recognition Program as an NHSR Scholar.  This College Board program recognizes outstanding Latino/Hispanic students based on their high PSAT scores.  This year, Lourdes was one of 5,300 students to be honored, out of more than 259,000 students who took the test.

MVCS vs. Gilroy in the Mustang Stadium at 7:30-9:30pm.

NHS and CSF Due Sept. 20

Applications for the National Honor Society (NHS) and the California Scholarship Federation (CSF) are due by Friday, September 20.  Membership in CSF must be renewed every semester.

Pick up your CSF application in the Student Services office.

MS Back To School Night Sept. 11

Parents are invited to visit your student's classes and meet their teachers on Wednesday, September 11, from 6:30-8:45pm. 

There is an optional meeting at 6pm for parents whose students are interested in playing sports.

College Planning Night Sept. 9

Juniors, seniors, and parents are invited to learn more about SAT prep, college application information, deadlines, CSU and UC information, and other important college planning details on Monday, September 9, from 6:30-8:30pm.

At 6:30, Seniors will start in the HS Gym Foyer, and Juniors will start in the MSPAR (Middle School Performing Arts Room).

HS Feb. Trips Assembly Sept. 9

Our annual high school February trips are a great way to travel and learn about world culture and history.  Explore far-away destinations like London, Rome, and Paris in 2014. Your favorite MVCS teachers will be leading the trips.

During Advisory on Sept. 9, you'll hear presentations about the opportunities available this year.

MS Fall Sports Begin Sept. 3

Middle School Cross Country, Girls Basketball and Boys Soccer all begin on Tuesday,September 3rd from 3:30-5:00pm.

All sports will meet in front of the MS Gym for the first day of practice.

Pep Squad has already begun and they meet on Fridays only from 2:00-4:30pm next to the swimming pool.
