MS December "IMPACT"

Mustang Band Trophy



The Mustang Band earned a 3rd place trophy at the Lincoln Band Review of Champions in the Division C Concert Competition on Saturday, November 17, in Stockton.  Their three symphonic pieces were judged by a panel of California band directors.  The Lincoln Band Review is one of the largest in Northern California, with more than 30 high schools participating this year. 

MS Toy Drive

You still have time to join the Toy Drive in the middle school before December 14! Please bring any new or gently used unwrapped toys that you would like to donate to encourage and reach out with love to hundreds of children all over the world this Christmas—toy boxes are located in the middle school classrooms.

Upcoming Honors Concerts





Yejoon Hong (1st Chair Flute) was selected to perform in the CMEA-CCS High School Honor Band Concert to be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Santa Cruz High School.

Eleanor Persing, Katie Minarik, Clayton Stofer, and Andrea Calip were selected to perform in the CMEA-CCS Middle School Honor Choir Concert to be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Salinas High School.

Amy Mei (Violin I, 2nd Chair) and Benjamin Wang (Violin II, 2nd Chair) were selected to perform in the CMEA-CCS High School Honor Orchestra Concert on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Pacific Grove Middle School. 

Meggie Nell, Travis Nelson, and Elijah Thompson were selected to perform in the ACDA High School All-State Choir Concert to be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Sacramento.

MS Nov Students of the Month



Each month, Middle School teachers select a Student of the Month to be honored for their efforts and achievement in the classroom. Each student receives a Student of the Month bumper sticker, a certificate of recognition suitable for framing, a letter with comments from their teacher, and a small gift.

This month’s honored students and their teachers are:  Left to Right:  Alexandra Browning (Mr.  Stanton),  Rebecca Salinas (Mrs. Urabe), Cobi Tadros (Mrs. Myer), Devin LaMarr (Mr. Chiaramonte),  Chayse Caprara (Mrs. Medina), Ell Tinsley (Mrs. Richards), Emily Locke-Paddon (Mr. Kmetovic), Olivia Berhan (Mrs. Schwerdtfeger), Obinna Ezeka (Mr. Blute), Christian Caputo (Mr. Townsend), Trinity Lampman (Mrs. Johnson), Damian Haro (Mrs. Selck), and Delilah Steinmann (Mrs. Renard).

"Sing for Your Life" Concert Nov. 4

The 10th Annual “Sing For Your Life” concert on November 4 will feature choirs from Monte Vista Christian School, Georgiana Bruce Kirby, Santa Cruz High, Scotts Valley High, and Soquel.

Funds raised from the concert will be distributed to the participating schools in proportion to the number of tickets they sell.

The concert will take place at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium at 1pm.  $15 advance tickets/ $20 door.  Children under 12 are free with an adult.
